Tuxedo Yachting House returns to superyacht segment

The Tuxedo Yachting House has announced its return to the superyacht segment with a new range, the Ceccarelli Collection, which will include a 40-metre aluminium yacht.

The new full-custom yacht is a collaboration with Francesco Paszkowski Design, Margherita Casprini for the interiors and Sebastian Martinez for the exteriors. The naval architecture is by Francesco Rogantin’s Names studio.

The project is an evolution for the shipyard was founded in 2020 by brother and sister duo Francesco and Laura Ceccarelli.

The origins of the project date back to 1962 when Francesco and Laura’s father, Aldo, purchased Cantieri Navali Liguri in Riva Trigoso.

With this new vessel, our goal is to maintain traditional and elegant lines while ensuring the use of cutting-edge technologies.

The company then expanded in 1980 with the acquisition of Cantieri Navali Lavagna and began specialising in aluminum yachts up to 54 meters.

Before its debut in the superyacht segment, Tuxedo established its position with the Tuxedo White and Tuxedo Blue collections, 44- and 54-foot models featuring aluminum construction and extensive customisation.

“With this new vessel, our goal is to maintain traditional and elegant lines while ensuring the use of cutting-edge technologies, the utmost attention to detail, the hallmarks of our DNA, high quality, and immediately recognisable aesthetics and design,” explained Francesco Ceccarelli.

Laura added: “Today, as then, we build exactly what the client desires because our boats, by definition, must reflect their personality, which is why they offer such a high level of interior customisation.”

Design elements inspired by the automotive world

The interior layout is traditional while offering modern spaces, with a coherent balance between the exterior and interior design.

Features include stanchions supporting the upper deck that integrate with the coamings leading to the hatch which itself has an inserted glass panel to provide interior light.

An the enlarged aft cable‑passage area facilitates line handling through a hollowed‑out end of the bulwark for improved functionality during mooring operations.

A lounge area beneath the wheelhouse offers a sunbathing space and a storage compartment featuring design elements inspired by the automotive world.

The wheelhouse itself features an inclined windshield facing the stern, with folds and facets integrated into the rollbar that extend beyond the beam of the yacht.

Highly recognisable feature

“The lines of the new Ceccarelli 40 are firmly rooted in my approach to design,” explained designer Francesco Paszkowski, “in a contemporary style, focusing and drawing my attention, as is my custom, on the stern, which must be a highly recognisable feature both when the boat is at sea and when it is docked.”

The Ceccarelli 40 has been designed with a semi-displacement hull, optimised with in-depth numerical hydrodynamics (CFD) studies to achieve top speeds of over 18 knots.

The basic propulsion system includes two diesel engines with in-line thrust shaft transmission and high-efficiency fixed-pitch propellers.

The project is also designed to accommodate the installation of a hybrid propulsion system with battery packs.
