Five companies have been rewarded for their efforts towards creating high-impact sustainable solutions in the superyacht sector.
The winners of the Blue Wake Awards 2025 were announced at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025.
Four companies and a yacht on exhibit at this year’s MYS were recognised for their commitment to sustainability, celebrating initiatives that the jury found drive meaningful progress across yacht design, engineering, and the on-board experience.
Submissions were evaluated across four environmental focus areas, with claims supported by data and, where possible, third-party verification.
In the Tenders / Water Toys category, TYKUN received recognition for its H1 hydrogen propulsion system, designed in Italy and ready for production.
Reduced environmental impact
The system was found to offer high performance with reduced environmental impact, combining efficiency, innovation, and extensive design customisation.
In the Luxury Products and Services category, Tai Ping was recognised for its Biophilic Programme , a collection of rugs made from undyed, biodegradable fibres such as wool, silk, flax, and jute.
By eliminating the dyeing process, the proceedure reduces water use by 60% and energy by 85%, while lowering carbon emissions.
The natural latex backing meets safety standards, with the programme offering a durable, eco-friendly alternative to synthetic materials.
Sustainable Yachting Fuel
Deasyl was the winner of the Nautical Supplier category for its Sustainable Yachting Fuel , a next-generation alternative to traditional marine fuels.
The fuel is produced using a low-energy, green chemistry processes and cuts CO2 emissions by up to 93%.
Sanlorenzo was honoured in the Refit / Builder Shipyard category for introducing the world’s first superyacht with Reformer Fuel Cell systems in partnership with Siemens Energy.
The system provides up to 100kW of emission-free electricity at anchor, reducing overall annual emissions by 20–30% using hydrogen from green methanol.
Innovative, low-impact design
The Special Jury Award was presented to Silver Yachts’ catamaran Reduce for its innovative, low-impact design.
The catamaran is built entirely in aluminium for recyclability, and its multi-hull layout and low-resistance hull by Espen Oeino International delivers fuel efficiency and extended range.
The jury praised the out-of-the-box thinking that prioritises minimal environmental impact through optimised design, operational efficiency, and the use of recycled, recyclable, or regenerative materials, encouraging the yachting sector to align more closely with nature.
“With the Blue Wake Awards, we are sending a clear message: environmental sustainability is not a side topic — it’s becoming central to innovation in yachting,” said Gaëlle Tallarida, managing director of the Monaco Yacht Show.
Eco-sustainable yachting industry
“These winners demonstrate how credible, high-impact solutions are already shaping the industry’s future.
“We also extend our sincere thanks to the members of the jury for their expertise and dedicated time in evaluating and supporting the voting process.
“Congratulations to all the winners for their outstanding contributions to a more eco-sustainable yachting industry.”
Robert van Tol, executive director of the Water Revolution Foundation, added: “This year’s submissions reflect tangible progress in how the yachting sector progresses towards increased sustainability.
More sustainable future
“Our role at the Water Revolution Foundation has been to ensure that every solution is evaluated rigorously, fairly, and with scientific grounding.
“The winners have not only met these standards but set a benchmark for what credible, high-impact innovation looks like in our industry.
“We congratulate them for leading the way toward a more sustainable future in yachting.”
The winners were selected by an international jury composed of leading figures from across the superyacht and sustainability sectors.
Blue Wake is the Monaco Yacht Show’s initiative to highlight and promote credible, high-impact environmental innovations across the yachting sector.
