Oceanco and Lloyd’s Register have signed a contract for the classification and certification of the largest yacht ever to be built by the shipyard.
The signing took place during the Monaco Yacht Show and was in respect to a 130m/426.5ft yacht, whose full specifications remain confidential at this stage.
Oceanco says the yacht is expected to redefine the industry with unmatched capabilities, design sophistication and operational range, with the certification marking a new chapter in a 38-year partnership.
Leap in scale
“This vessel represents not only a leap in scale but also in ambition,” said Marcel Onkenhout, CEO at Oceanco.
“Oceanco has embarked on an ambitious next chapter, pushing further on design, innovation and sustainability.
“Collaborating with Lloyd’s Register ensures that our boldest visions are realised with uncompromising safety and quality.”
Engel-Jan de Boer, Yacht Segment director at Lloyd’s Register, added: “Our enduring relationship with Oceanco is built on mutual respect and a shared pursuit of excellence. This project exemplifies what can be achieved when innovation meets integrity.”
