Ocean Independence partners with Giangrasso Group

Ocean Independence is partnering with Giangrasso Group as exclusive worldwide agents for the Italian boatbuilder’s new line of semi and full custom superyachts.

Giangrasso, based in Viareggio’s maritime district, was founded in 2008 by Bartolomeo Giangrasso, and has produced hull structures and technical components for leading European shipyards.

The Giangrasso Group is now transitioning from specialised contractor to luxury yacht builder.

The shipyard’s first -branded hull – a G24 Classic – is already sold by Ocean Independence sales and purchase director Rytis Babravicius, and Jelena Vezia, new build and charter – and is under construction at its facility.

Giangrasso’s model range has been developed in collaboration with Rytis and Jelena with the current portfolio comprises four distinct and fully finished designs ranging from 24 to 34 metres, with an additional 45-meter vessel in development.

Inaugural G24 Classic

The yard’s production strategy encompasses both semi-custom and full-custom platforms.

Giangrasso’s inaugural G24 Classic is set to debut at the 2025 Cannes Yachting Festival.

The vessel has twin MAN V12 engines coupled with ZF pods for a top speed of 27 knots, and a cruising speed of 23 knots with a 300-nautical-mile range.

The interior is by designer Michela Reverberi with naval architecture by Arrabito.

Other models include the G25 Classic, the G30 and the G34 Classic.

“A partnership led by Rytis Babravicius and Jelena Vezia; their influence has extended well beyond traditional sales roles,” said a spokesperson from Ocean Independence.

Commitment to excellence

“Their expertise has shaped both the successful sale of the inaugural G24 Classic and the strategic development of Giangrasso’s entire model range, ensuring each vessel meets the sophisticated demands of today’s luxury yacht market.”

The spokesperson added: “This depth of involvement is further exemplified in the G24 Classic project, where Mykolas Babravicius (Rytis’ son) is serving as project manager throughout the yacht’s construction and will transition to captain upon delivery in July 2025.

“This comprehensive approach, from development through to operation, demonstrates the commitment to excellence that defines the brands on both sides of this partnership, and the continued development of the products Giangrasso offer.”
