Turkish shipyard Ares Yachts has launched its first superyacht.
SIMENA is the Antalya-based shipyard’s first vessel in the 60+ metre range – and at 62 metres, breaks into the top 25 of the longest sailing superyachts in the world.
After the finishing works and sea trials are completed, the ketch-rigged sailing yacht built in steel–carbon composite will make its official world debut at the Monaco Yacht Show 2025 (24–27 September).
“We built a yacht that sets a new benchmark for performance, comfort, and style,” explained Piraye Sahinkaya Orhun, yachts projects director at Ares Yachts.
“SIMENA blends the elegance of a classic ketch with cutting-edge technology, designed for a true connoisseur.
“With a cruising speed of 11 knots and a top speed of 14.5, she offers transatlantic range even without sails. She’s perfect for any voyage in luxury and comfort.”

The yacht is designed to RINA Charter Class C requirements, with her exteriors by Taka Yacht Design.
Design Unlimited has created the yacht’s interior with key features including walnut cabinetry, tonal textured leathers and fabrics, and antiqued brass accents.
The showers have patterned tiles and Calacatta Oro and Patagonia White marbles.
Modern amenities such as TVs, lifts in the saloon and owner’s suite are concealed to preserve the yacht’s clean lines.
Features of the yacht’s exterior include traditional laid teak decks and varnished sipo mahogany joinery.
Hybrid drive system
On board SIMENA, there is accommodation for up to 12 guests and nine crew, with the owner’s suite positioned forward on the main deck.
Power to the vessel is provided by a hybrid drive system, enabling the yacht to operate under electric power at up to 6 knots.
In addition, a 1183hp diesel engine can supplement SIMENA’s 220kW electric motors, allowing the yacht to reach a top speed of 14.5 knots, with a range of 4,000 nautical miles when cruising at 11 knots.
“With SIMENA, Ares Yachts sets the tone for its future fleet – bold, timeless, and technologically advanced,” added Sahinkaya Orhun.
