Technohull has completed the latest expansion of its shipyard facilities in Lavrio, Greece.
The luxury high-performance boat manufacturer first unveiled its new factory in 2021 which covered a 50-acre site.
At the time it was said to combine efficient production planning methodology with the ultimate in manufacturing technology, representing one of the largest investments made in the sector.
The latest phase of the shipyard’s development covers an additional 20 acres to make 70 acres in total, with covered manufacturing area more than doubling areas from 12,000sqm to more than 25,000sqm, with two new buildings also added.
“After three years in our new facility and as our range develops – including new, challenging projects we are undertaking – our production needs are continually increasing,” said Gerasimos Petratos, Technohull CEO. “This has meant the need for immediate expansion with additional facilities.”
The facilities include a range of industrial equipment, spanning everything from small-scale milling machines and 20m-long 5-axis CNC unit to fully controlled spray booths and post-curing ovens.
The expanded facility now includes another 6,500sqm building for GRP production, automotive-style painting booths, a 25m painting booth, a building dedicated to carpentry and decking manufacturing and 1,500sqm dedicated space for new CNC machines.
“The whole production site is perfectly organised for every step of the production process from concept development, design and prototyping to final production, engineering and fitting,” Gerasimos added.
“This enables lean and environmentally friendly production processes to ensure the highest boatbuilding quality and, most importantly, the capacity to complete even the most demanding projects.”
The shipbuilder has experienced considerable growth over the past two years with production in 2024 55% higher than in 2022, with 155 units built.
The number of employees has increased over the same period from 120 to more than 220.
Technohull’s turnover has increased around €10 million each year.
“As the brand evolves and we are moving towards a more demanding future, we are constantly challenged to become stronger in so many ways,” Gerasimos concluded.
“The shipyard’s expansion not only allows us to further increase our production capacity but also to undertake bigger, more complex and more challenging projects and, beyond doubt, enhance further our presence in the global arena.”
