UK-built app SailTies has partnered with Sail Canada to support the sailing experience of Canadian boaters.
The logbook app allows boaters to record and share their experience, with the app integrating digital functionality with traditional logbook practises.
The app was developed in 2021 and has since been adopted by thousands of sailors with co-founder Chris Jacobs explaining that it allows for comprehensive digital logging, significantly reducing the risk of losing critical records and certifications due to misplaced paperwork or water damage.
“Our partnership with Sail Canada marks a significant step in modernising the sailing experience,” he said. “SailTies supports thousands of users in documenting millions of miles of sailing across oceans, lakes, and rivers, ensuring that vital data is preserved and accessible.”
Pivotal
Nick Allinson, programs coordinator at Sail Canada, added: “SailTies complements our existing logbook and certification systems, making logging simpler and more efficient.
“This technology is pivotal in our mission to enhance the sailing experience for all participants.”
Around 40% of SailTies downloads are from British boaters, with users logging 4 million miles of voyages in 90% of the world’s countries.
SailTies is free to use, with an optional SailTies Plus subscription for sailors who want to unlock even more from their voyages.
The app is available for both iOS and Android systems.
Sail Canada is the national governing body for the sport of sailing in the country.
