A Scottish yacht rigging company has expanded its operations to a third location – at Largs Yacht Haven, Scotland’s largest marina.

Fairlie Riggers, led by master rigger and owner John McColgan, has opened a new workshop and sales facility at the marina which is based on the Ayrshire coast.

Founded by John McColgan in the late 1980s, Fairlie Riggers provide rigging services to yacht owners on the Firth of Clyde from the company’s main base in Fairlie, south of Largs.

The operation expanded to a second location at Kip Marina a few years ago and the the company has since grown its services to include the supply and installation of rigging products from brands including Kingfisher Yacht Ropes, Sta-Lock terminals, Harken and Seldén.

“By opening an office and workshop in Largs Yacht Haven, we aim to leverage improved access to clients and resources, ensuring our rigging services are not only more efficient but also more responsive to the needs of our customers” explained John. “This encapsulates our desire for better service delivery and business growth.”

Largs Yacht Haven marina manager, Dave Hewitt, added: “Our berth holders at Largs Yacht Haven have regularly reported that John and his team of riggers have provided outstanding service as well as professional advice.

“We hope their new on-site location at the Yacht Haven will allow them to build their growing reputation.”
