Ocean Signal has launched its most advanced man overboard (MOB) device to date, the rescueME MOB2 at METSTRADE 2024.
The rescueME MOB2 combines AIS (Automatic Identification System) and DSC (Digital Selective Calling) technology and is Ocean Signal’s smallest, most compact Class-M approved MOB device.
The device is built to meet the latest European regulation (ECC/DEC/(22)02), and is equipped with two-way DSC signalling, and real-time AIS location tracking.
“The evolution of the rescueME MOB2 has been designed with the modern seafarer in mind – compact, easy to use, and more powerful,” said Mikele D’Arcangelo, vice president of global marketing and product management.
“With Class-M approval, we are committed to staying at the forefront of marine safety, responding to the growing demands for more effective solutions and delivering advanced products that comply with stringent international regulations.”
The MOB2 also combines dual infrared (IR) and white strobe lights to maximise visibility in low-light conditions.
Ocean Signal has also integrated Near Field Communication (NFC) technology into the MOB2 device for programming the MOB2 with a vessels MMSI and accessing data from the Ocean Signal mobile device app.
