Weenav has launched its new KRONOS electric motor range
French electric motor company Weenav has launched its new KRONOS electric outboard motor range, following three years of research and development.
The new range is available from 80 to 300hp and is supplied as a complete package designed for easy installation.
The package includes a charger, a DC/DC converter allowing a rapid recharge from 20% to 90% in 20 minutes.
The control and energy management system has been co-developed with Garmin and the batteries are Zyonix lithium ion (LIFePO4) by PowerTech Systems with each 53 volt battery module measuring 485 x 296 x 230mm and weighing 49.5kg.
Weight distribution
The batteries are IP67 waterproof and can operate between -20°C and 60°C with up to 6,000 charge cycles from 0 to 100%
The modules can be connected in series and separated and distributed around the boat for better weight distribution.
The motors are capable of a 100 nautical mile range and a 70 knots maximum speed with the 300hp version.
The motor has been designed and assembled in France.
“This outboard motor stands out for its advanced technology, promising performance, and simplified installation,” said a spokesperson from Weenav.
“A new option to consider for those who want to combine boating and the energy transition.”
The spokesperson added: “With the KRONOS range, Weenav confirms its ambition to offer powerful, reliable electric motors suitable for a wide variety of nautical uses.”
