New Garmin trolling motor

The Force Pro is Garmin’s new brushless trolling motor incorporating the company’s GPS positioning technology and has a built-in GT56UHD, Garmin’s latest ultra high-definition scanning transducer.

“Garmin Force has quickly become a trusted name in trolling motors for professional and recreational anglers all over the world,” said Susan Lyman, Garmin vice president of consumer sales and marketing.

“By adding premium features like our most advanced positioning technology with fishing-friendly enhancements like reverse thrust, we’re excited to offer anglers a trolling motor that’s second to none and continue to grow our presence in this market.”

Force Pro features include a brushless motor that uses a high-efficiency propeller to produce 100 pounds of thrust.

The motor also has reverse thrust capability for extra control and uses multi-band GPS signal reception and an integrated heading sensor, for enhanced anchor lock or while following a route or holding a heading.

The anchor lock allows the boat to be automatically positioned and the new reverse thrust feature can reduce steering activity and noise levels in calm conditions.

Force Pro also has a built-in sonar integration with an included GT56UHD, Garmin’s scanning transducer that delivers Ultra High-Definition ClearVü and SideVü sonar along with CHIRP traditional sonar for image clarity.

Wireless integration with Garmin chartplotters allows anglers to create routes, patterns and tracks for the trolling motor to follow.

Force Pro can be connected to a compatible Garmin smartwatch to control features including steering and anchor lock.

There is also a lighted indicator on the trolling motor shaft cap.

Components of the Force Pro have advanced corrosion and saltwater protection.
