Kazuyuki Yamashita has been appointed as Suzuki GB and Republic of Ireland managing director, joining the company in April from Suzuki Deutschland.
Yamashita has held the position of managing director of Suzuki Deutschland for the last five years and brings a wealth of experience to the brand.
He first joined Suzuki Motor Corporation in 1987 and throughout his career has worked in different capacities within its Hamamatsu head office as well as Japanese domestic and overseas subsidiaries.
His roles have included working as director, automotive sales of Suzuki Canada from 2001 to 2006, as managing director of Suzuki Auto South Africa from 2007 to 2013 and as managing director of Suzuki Deutschland from 2021 to 2026.
Second stint as managing director
He will take over the position from Takanori Suzuki who is retiring after three years as managing director of Suzuki GB and Republic of Ireland and is returning to Japan towards the end of May.
This has been Takanori’s second term as managing director, having first headed up the company headquarters in Milton Keynes from 2005-2010 before moving back to Japan to lead Suzuki Europe, Suzuki Oceania and Suzuki Latin America.
Takanori’s career with Suzuki Motor Corporation has spanned over four decades.
