Volvo Penta has announced new leadership appointments for its North American marine business.
Brock Gavin has been appointed as vice president of marine sales and service and Jens Bering as head of product and solutions management for Volvo Penta North America
In their new roles, Gavin and Bering will be tasked with advancing Volvo Penta’s marine strategy and driving continued growth across commercial and leisure markets in North America.
Gavin will lead Volvo Penta’s overall marine strategy in North America with a focus on strengthening relationships with current OEM partners, dealers and customers while also capturing new opportunities.
Together, they will help us accelerate innovation, strengthen our market presence and continue delivering exceptional value.

In addition, he will continue work towards aligning unique market needs with Volvo Penta North America’s long-term vision for marine innovation and sustainability.
Gavin takes on his new role with a range of leadership experience, most recently as president of Arrow Truck Sales, a Volvo Group company, in Kansas City, Missouri, where he was responsible for operations, customer satisfaction, business development and advancing overall strategy for Mack Trucks and Volvo Trucks.
He joined Volvo Group in 2016 as director of CRM for Group Trucks North America after roles within the commercial power tools, agriculture equipment, and management consulting industries.
Prior to his leadership at Arrow, he also served as vice president of commercial operations for Mack Trucks.
Product and solution lifecycle
Bering has nearly three decades of experience at Volvo Penta North America and will assume responsibility for leading product and solutions management.
In the role, he will oversee the full lifecycle of product and solution development, from ideation and planning to launch and market execution.
Bering began his career in 1997 as an applications engineer and has advanced through roles spanning product management, sales, pricing, profitability, and product training and integration.
