Boat rental marketplace Getmyboat has promoted longtime executive and chief operating officer Bryan Petro to CEO.
He succeeds Sascha Mornell who co-founded the company with business partner Raf Collado in 2013 and will remain on the board of directors.
Bryan was the first employee at Getmyboat, hired in 2013 to build and oversee product design, company organization, and growth.
He established every department, from marketing, sales, and customer service to product, engineering, and design and over time, hired new leaders for these teams to keep pace with the company’s growth while evolving into the chief operations officer role.
He also facilitated Getmyboat’s first external capital raise from Yanmar, which ultimately led to Yanmar’s majority acquisition in 2021.
We are poised for the next exponential growth phase under his leadership.

“Bryan was employee number one at Getmyboat — there is no Getmyboat without Bryan,” said Sascha.
“I am so thankful for his contributions over the years and so proud of what he has accomplished. We are poised for the next exponential growth phase under his leadership.”
Bryan added: “I am honored to step into this role and carry forward the remarkable legacy Sascha has built at Getmyboat.
“His visionary leadership transformed the company from a simple idea of making it easier to rent a boat into the world’s largest boat rental marketplace.
“With deep gratitude for his guidance, I am committed to building on this strong foundation and driving Getmyboat to even greater success.”
Getmyboat provides boat rentals and yacht charters of all kinds.
