Jon Partridge steps down from RS Sailing

After 25 years of service, Jon Partridge is to step down from his role as managing director of RS Sailing.

Jon joined RS as operations manager in 1999 and was promoted to joint-CEO in 2015.

His career included steering RS through some of the industry’s most difficult periods, including the global Covid pandemic, championing the strength and unity of the RS community.

Among his many achievements, Jon was instrumental in the success of the RS Feva class, which has grown into one of the world’s leading junior double handed dinghy classes.

He also led the expansion of RS into new international markets, establishing a worldwide dealer network.

The entire RS team is profoundly grateful for his loyalty and the legacy he leaves behind.

“Under his guidance, RS Sailing has grown into one of the most respected dinghy and sailing brands globally, inspiring sailors of all ages and abilities,” said a spokesperson from RS.

“Jon’s energy and passion have shaped RS fleets and communities worldwide, fostering a spirit of participation and camaraderie through memorable events and initiatives.

“The entire RS team is profoundly grateful for his loyalty and the legacy he leaves behind.”

Jon added: “After an incredible 25 years at RS Sailing it is time for me to hand the baton on.

“There are so many people to thank who have made my time at RS so special, but the biggest thanks goes to Martin Wadhams and Nick Peters for the opportunities they gave me.

“Martin and Nick changed the world of small sailboat sailing and I am proud to have been a part of it.”

Jon will continue to be involved with RS in a consultancy capacity for a period.
