Delphia has appointed Mark Averhoff as brand director as the Groupe Beneteau brand aims to expand its range beyond inland waterways into coastal cruising.
Averhoff has more than ten years’ experience with Groupe Beneteau and has spent the past two years as Delphia’s sales director. He succeeds Martin Schemkes, who is retiring after 26 years with the group.
The appointment follows the debut of a 250hp version of the Delphia 11 at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival with Delphia stating higher-power options will enable its boats to operate in stronger currents and coastal conditions while retaining their focus on efficient, comfortable cruising.
The Delphia 11 and Delphia 12 are central to the strategy, offering larger living areas and layouts intended for extended stays on board.
The models will continue to serve inland and all-season boating while broadening the brand’s appeal among customers seeking coastal capability.
Making the most of life on the water
“Joining Delphia felt like a natural next step for me,” said Averhoff. “I strongly share the brand’s vision of simple, comfortable boating centred on enjoying life on the water.”
“We will remain true to what defines Delphia: boats designed to make the most of life on the water, with comfort, simplicity and freedom.
“At the same time, we want to continue developing our offering for coastal cruising and give our customers more possibilities to explore.”
Schemkes added: “I greatly value his expertise and dedication, and I am confident that Delphia is in very good hands as it continues its strong development.”
