New general manager for IMCI

Ulrich Manigel is to take on the role of general manager of International Marine Certification Institute (IMCI) following the retirement of Dr Udo Wolff.

Dr Wolff joined IMCI in 1999, when the head-office team consisted of just two people and has worked for the company for the last 25 years and continue to be involved in the company for special certification projects.

“I am very pleased that Dr Wolff will continue to be available to us for special certification projects, now again as certification manager,” said Ulrich Heinemann, MD of IMCI and company secretary of IMCI (UK). “His 25 years of experience will remain with our customers and us, and Udo will be able to apply the brakes as and when required. It is good that he is staying with us.”

Ulrich Manigel has been a member of the IMCI head office team since 2002 and steps up to the general manager role with effect from February 1 2024 from the post of director of certification which will now be re-assigned.

Ulrich Heinemann added: “In accordance with our quality assurance system, Ulli can now sign IMCI and IMCI (UK) certificates if I am unavailable due to absence.

“I am very pleased that he is following in Udo’s footsteps and hope that we can find a successor for Ulli Manigel in his former position.

“Like many other companies in our industry, IMCI is dealing with a generational change.”
