Oyster Yachts, British builder bluewater sailing yachts, has unveiled the Oyster 515, the next generation of its 50 foot range.
The new yacht is an evolution of the Oyster 495, combining increased sail area with greater volume, more contemporary styling, and a reimagined deck.
The Oyster 515 has been designed in collaboration with Humphreys Yacht Design and Oyster’s in-house design studio.
The most significant evolution of the Oyster 515 can be found in the aft section of the yacht where there is a redesigned, beach club inspired deck space.
The area combines aft-facing seating, a sunken lounge and a larger superyacht-inspired fold-down bathing platform, a space that has been designed as a living space at the water’s edge for relaxing, entertaining or swimming while at anchor.
Also aft, there is increased lazarette stowage and a choice of an integrated tender garage or conventional davits.
Increased volume
Below deck, the volume has been increased and the windows enlarged.
A revised sail plan, increased sail area, twin rudders and powered sail-handling systems enable the yacht to be sailed without additional crew.
Other features include new wing seats beside the helm stations and an optional shoal keel draft.
“We have evolved her around how owners want to sail and live today, combining true ocean-going capability with a completely reimagined aft deck, a closer connection to the water and a state-of-the art beach club experience unlike anything else currently available in this class,” said Stefan Zimmermann Zschocke, CEO of Oyster Yachts.
“It is a purposeful evolution of our 50 foot platform and a clear expression of our commitment to continuous product development and meaningful innovation.”
