Limestone Boat Company resumes manufacturing

The Limestone Boat Company has resumed manufacturing at its new facilities in in St. Stephen, New Brunswick.

The owner and builder of Limestone Boats says it has concluded an intensive employee training program which began in late November 2023 and boatbuilding has begun in the new manufacturing facility.

“Limestone’s New Brunswick management team of experienced boatbuilders, marine designers and engineers, and quality assurance specialists are confident that the Company’s formal training program has equipped its employees with the necessary boatbuilding skills and industry knowledge required to build the quality boats expected from Limestone as it transitions to serial production over the coming months,” the company said in a statement.

The first MY2025 production boat is due to be available to dealers later in 2024.

Improved quality

Limestone Boats has also re-confirmed that upgrades to existing tooling for the L200CC and L200R models with improved quality and production efficiencies, along with the new L290DC and L200R EV tooling which are nearing completion.

And the Company said that throughout the suspension of manufacturing operations, its dealers have remained supportive, and more than a dozen additional dealers have expressed interest in the Limestone model lineup and Limestone’s outboard power configurations.

The statement concluded: “The Limestone Board and management would like to once again thank all stakeholders for their continued support of the Company.

“Management and the Board of Directors of Limestone also wish to reaffirm their commitment to enhancing shareholder value.”

The temporary suspension of operations at St. Stephen was announced in May 2024 along with the lay off of around 27 employees.
