YYachts presents the evolved Y7 yacht

YYachts has presented its evolved Y7 model, a development of its 22m yacht with new lines and a modular layout.

The yacht has been designed in collaboration with naval architects jude/vrolijk & co, known for their high-performance cruising yachts and custom superyachts.

The Y7 is built from carbon, including the hull, deck and mast, chosen for its rigidity and lighter weight – the yacht’s displacement is around 34 tons.

The lighter weight has been designed for improved speed and manouverability, especially in lighter winds.

Technical and aesthetic improvements

Technical and aesthetic improvements have been made to the original Y7 design, aimed at the shorthanded sailor or for long-distance cruising.

The deck layout has been simplified, with halyards and sheets moved to the helm stations and the cockpit incorporates a wider space between the helm consoles and winches and an asymmetrical entry to enhance flow and efficiency when under sail.

The cockpit is more enclosed to increase safety and there is a U-shaped sofa on the starboard side.

Greater interior volume

The hull lines have been redesigned to create a greater interior volume, yet the Y7 superstructure silhouette has been retained.

Below deck, the engine room has been moved from beneath the saloon floor to a dedicated technical space with dual access, including direct entry from the crew area.

The crew companionway is integrated into the cockpit design and provides direct access to both cockpit and help stations, providing a separation of pathways for owners and their guests and crew.

The owner’s cabin has been enlarged and is available in three different layouts and new to the range is a VIP guest cabin in the aft area,.

YYachts is also offering this area as a crew area with a separate lounge and its own entrance.

Keel options include a 3.5m fixed keel or a 2.85m telescopic keel in the upper position.
