Thai Yamaha Motor has appointed Seat Group as an official distributor of Yamaha Marine products, expanding its sales and service network in Thailand.
The agreement covers Yamaha outboard motors and WaveRunner personal watercraft. Seat Group will operate in Chonburi and Phuket, alongside existing regional partners Vachara Marine and Praditphong Motor.
Yamaha said the appointment is intended to increase distribution capacity, after-sales support and access to products for recreational, tourism, fisheries, transport and commercial users.
It also forms part of a strategy to serve more corporate customers and government agencies involved in public services, operational work and marine infrastructure.
Growth potential
Pongsatorn Ueamongkolchai, chairman of the executive committee at Thai Yamaha Motor, said Thailand continued to offer growth potential across tourism, fisheries, water transport and recreational boating.
“Yamaha places strong emphasis on developing its business network alongside continuously enhancing service quality, ensuring that customers receive the best possible experience throughout the entire product ownership lifecycle,” he said.
He added that Asean is a key marine market and that the Thai network expansion would also prepare Yamaha’s service and customer-support operations for longer-term regional growth.
Seat Group’s activities include boat design, boatbuilding, after-sales service and work with private-sector customers and government agencies. Yamaha said the company’s market knowledge and technical experience would strengthen its marine operations in Thailand.
“Being entrusted by Yamaha Marine as an official distributor marks an important milestone in expanding Seat Group’s capabilities and further strengthening our marine business operations,” said a spokesperson from Seat Group.
The distributor added that it would combine its boatbuilding, service and operational experience with Yamaha’s products and technology.
