Voltaic Marine set to enter production market

Michigan based Voltaic Marine is set to launch itself into the production market with its AEW24 flagship sports boat.

The craft will be on show at CES 2026 and will mark the company’s transition from development into a production-intent marine platform.

The company says its mission is to advance and reindustrialise the maritime sector, with focus areas spanning consumer, commercial and defense markets.

The company, founded by Richard Phamdo, recently closed a $3 million oversubscribed pre-seed funding round to accelerate its electric boat platforms.

Phamdo set up Voltaic Marine following more than a decade in the automotive industry advancing electric and autonomous vehicles.

AEW24 represents a real inflection point for us.

Richard Phamdo

During his automotive career, he was struck by how slow the maritime world was evolving and decided to set up Voltaic Marine to accelerate the adoption of advanced technologies in the maritime sector.

The AEW24 is the company’s first scalable marine platform, designed for high-performance, with instant torque propulsion, a modern user interface and design.

“AEW24 represents a real inflection point for us,” Phamdo said. “What we’re showing at CES is a full-scale platform that delivers the performance today while laying the groundwork for where marine technology is headed.”

Features of the AEW24 include a patented, purpose-built hull shaped to support advanced propulsion, provide a smooth ride and consistent performance.

The battery capacity is designed for extended runtime with cooling integrated into the hull itself to maintain performance during demanding use.

Additional models

In addition the platform architecture incorporates an integrated system with intuitive controls, onboard diagnostics and a modular design built to scale across fleets and future platforms.

The AEW24 is 24 feet in length with a beam of 8.5 feet and features 300kWh of power. The vessel will be able to accommodate up to 18 people.

Manufactured from aluminium, the craft will have a top speed of 40mph and a cruising speed of 25mph and will be able to run for up to 8 hours on a single charge.

Following the AEW24, Voltaic Marine plans to expand into additional models, commercial utility vessels and purpose-built defense variants with all future vessels sharing unified hardware and software systems.

Deliveries of the AEW24 are expected to begin at the end of 2026.
