Solid performance for Beneteau amid market challenges

Group Beneteau has reported a ‘solid’ financial performance for the 2024 year amid market challenges, but says 2025 will be a year of contrasts between the first half and second half of the year.

In Europe, the market for Group Beneteau is becoming more difficult, affected by the end of subsidy programs in Greece which have penalised demand for sailing catamarans.

The Group is also facing challenges relating to customs duties and tariffs introduced by the United States.

Retail demand is expected to contract by 5% to 10% over the year.

During the second half of 2025 the Group intends to launch and ramp-up of 20 new models, at a time when dealer stock levels will be normalised, supporting a realignment between order intake and retail demand.

Other key strategies for the Group include the launch of 28 new premium models between 2025 to 2027 to position it on new high-end market segments.

And to relaunch demand in terms of volumes, the Group is stepping up the renewal of its entry-level offering with 38 models launched in this category over the next three years.

New models

The Group is aiming to attract new owners who are today focused on the pre-owned market.

Overall, 66 new models will be launched between 2025 and 2027 (versus 44 for 2022-2024).

“It is when boat markets are down that launching new models and new ranges will enable solid operators to bounce back,” explained Bruno Thivoyon, Groupe Beneteau CEO.

The Group is forecasting revenues of €0.9bn to €1.0bn for 2025.

As previously reported Beneteau’s Boat division recorded revenues of €1,034.4m in 2024, down 29.4% compared with 2023.

Sustainable boating

Sales to end customers contracted by 7% over the period with the slowdown in retail demand volumes particularly marked for the Sailing business which was down 24%.

On the Motor business segments, there was a 11% decrease in the volumes delivered by the distribution network.

Groupe Beneteau is continuing to move forward with its roadmap for more sustainable boating.

In 2024, 56% of the Group’s purchases were placed with suppliers whose CSR approach has been formally assessed.

The Group is aiming to reduce its CO2 emission intensity by 30% by 2030.
