SEA.AI, supplier of advanced marine vision systems, has expanded into the Asia-Pacific region with the opening of a new office on Australia’s Gold Coast.
The company says the move reflects increasing demand across commercial, recreational, and defence marine sectors for its artificial intelligence-powered situational awareness solutions.
“Australia has always been an early adopter of marine innovation,” said Marcus Warrelmann, CEO of SEA.AI.
“With its vast coastline and highly active maritime industry, this is a natural progression for us.
“Establishing a dedicated office here allows us to better serve our growing network of dealers, shipyards, and end users.”
Real time detection
SEA.AI’s systems are designed to detect and classify objects at sea in real time.
The systems are suitable for a variety of uses such as offshore racing teams, commercial vessels, coast guards, and naval authorities.
The new office will carry out sales, provide technical training and aftersales support onshore.
The operation will be headed by Mark Lane, who has more than 20 years of experience in business development, sales, and dealer network growth across Australia.
Groundbreaking technology
“This is more than just an expansion—it’s about embedding SEA.AI into the future of Australian and New Zealand’s maritime safety and performance,” said Mark.
“We’re excited to bring this groundbreaking technology even closer to the people who need it most.”
SEA.AI has been developing marine vision systems since 2018 and currently has bases in Austria, France, Portugal, and the United States.
Safety and security at sea
The company’s product range includes fully integrated systems that combine optical and thermal sensors with artificial intelligence to enhance safety and security at sea, as well as SEA.AI’s maritime machine vision solution, Brain, which is compatible with third-party cameras.
SEA.AI systems are designed to quickly detect and identify floating objects, providing the crew with real-time information.
