Safe Harbor has expanded into the Mediterranean with the acquisition of Monaco Marine, adding to its global boating and service network.
Monaco Marine includes nine locations in the South of France and Monaco that provide slips, storage, and service for vessels and superyachts up to 90 meters.
With the addition of Monaco Marine, Safe Harbor now owns and operates 149 marinas and shipyards in the Mediterranean, the United States and the Caribbean.
“The Monaco Marine team cares deeply about providing exceptional service in some of the world’s most iconic yachting destinations,” explained Baxter Underwood, CEO of Safe Harbor Marinas.
“We are thrilled to be able to serve captains, crews, and owners in places like Saint Tropez, Antibes, and Monaco.”
Pleasure boats
Monaco Marine was founded in 1995 in Monaco by Michel Ducros, and is a leading network in the Mediterranean, offering services ranging from maintenance to complete refits for pleasure boats from 10 to 90 meters.
Over the years, the Group has added to its portfolio of shipyards and expanded its services to cater to larger yachts. The Group has eight yacht facilities and a marina.
The two organisations announced in June 2025 that they had entered into exclusive negotiations with a view to a merger which would enable Monaco Marine to extend its network of shipyards.
Safe Harbor Marinas, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, had previously expressed its intention to develop its business in Europe.
The company is the largest owner and operator of marinas in the world.
