OTTER expands into the US

OTTER, the Swiss company behind the Otter Bike, is expanding into the US through a partnership with Florida-based Nautical Ventures.

From September 2025, Nautical Ventures will serve as OTTER’s exclusive reseller in Florida, stocking units, showcasing demo models, and featuring the Otter Bike at the AquaZone, the interactive water sports area at major US boat shows including Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and Palm Beach.

The partnership marks OTTER’s first US presence and is seen as part of the company’s growth strategy.

OTTER was first piloted in Switzerland and launched more widely in Europe earlier in 2025.

The US launch is a major milestone, but it’s also a springboard for more innovation.

The Otter Bike is an electric-assisted pedal boat which can be propelled at 10km/h with a 20km range.

The bicycle on water has been designed and engineered in Swizerland with the first production run nearly sold out.

OTTER is currently developing its next series and new lines with plans to expand its line up in the future, based on feedback from customers.

The company sees the US as a natural next step, with Florida emerging as the ideal entry point.

New category of water recreation

“Think of it as a personal mini-yacht that’s easy to handle and emissions-free,” explained OTTER founder Gian Zimmermann.

“It’s a new category of water recreation, and we believe it will resonate strongly in the US, especially in Florida where lifestyle, wellness, and water are so deeply intertwined.”

“The US launch is a major milestone, but it’s also a springboard for more innovation. We’re already preparing for the next series, with improvements and lessons learned from the field being implemented.”

He added: “Partnering with Nautical Ventures gives us an immediate foothold in the US with a trusted and professional team that knows how to introduce innovative products to the market.

“We also share a vision of making water recreation more sustainable and more accessible.”
