Ocibar acquires stake in Italian marina

Spanish marina operator Ocibar has acquired a 25% stake in Marina d’Arechi, Italy.

The minority stake represents Ocibar’s first international venture with the marina now set to underake investments to enhance its facilities, expand its berth capacity, and modernise its infrastructure to offer a premium experience for all types of vessels.

There are also plans to build a hotel to support the area’s tourism initiatives.

Marina d’Arechi was designed, built, and operated by the Gallozzi Group, and offers 950 berths for vessels ranging from 10 to 100 meters.

The marina is located at the gateway to the Amalfi Coast, 25 nautical miles from Capri, a popular Italian sailing destination.

Unique proposition

“Marina d’Arechi is one of the great examples of success in marina development in the Mediterranean and still has significant growth potential,” said Antonio Zaforteza, partner at Ocibar. “Our alliance will further enhance this marina and integrate it into a unique value proposition for its customers and those of the various Ocibar marinas.”

He added: “This investment aligns with our international expansion strategy and marks a new milestone in Ocibar’s roadmap.”

Ocibar Group was founded in 1989 and is headquartered in Calvià (Balearic Islands). The Group specialises in the development and management of nautical-sports facilities and operates a network of marinas in locations across the Mediterranean coast of Spain.

“We had contemplated expanding the shareholder base of Marina d’Arechi and are very happy to have Ocibar joining us with a 25% participation, based on shared values and principles of business ethics,” said Agostino Gallozzi, CEO of the Gallozzi Group and Marina d’Arechi.

“Our partnership will propel Marina d’Arechi into a new phase of development.”
