Novamarine to expand production facilities

Novamarine has announced the signing of a contract to expand its production facilities in Su Arrasolu, Sardinia.

The agreement was signed with Cosmo Montaggi e Trasporti Srl, and provides for an investment of around 1.5 million euros to construct a new approximately 5,000 square meters building dedicated specifically to fibreglass processing.

The facility will be significantly larger than that initially planned – previously 1,500 square meters – to allow for installation of overhead cranes and advanced tools to improve production efficiency and reduce processing cycle times.

The expansion forms part of Novamarine’s growth strategy that was announced at the time of its Initial Public Offering (IPO).

The shipyard aims to respond to a growing demand and consolidate its competitive positioning.

The works will be financed through the proceeds raised during the IPO, with the facility expected to be completed by the end of 2025.

We are certain that this will allow us to increase our performance in the coming years.

Novamarine has set up a temporary area within the same site to ensure production continuity during the execution of the works.

The shipyard also plans to build another plant in Su Arrasolu, dedicated to the development of professional segment boats.

Novamarine says the separation will allow a more targeted management of the different production lines.

“We are proud to officially announce the start of the expansion and renovation works of the Su Arrasolu plant,” said Francesco Pirro, chairman and CEO of Novamarine.

Strategic positioning

“For us, this represents one of the main objectives we set ourselves before the IPO process, and above all a confirmation of our desire to create a cutting-edge and capacious production site, capable of meeting the needs of our customers.

“We are certain that this will allow us to increase our performance in the coming years, in favour of an increasingly strategic positioning of Novamarine on the reference market and of the company’s growth from an industrial point of view.”

Novamarine currently ownes the Su Arrasolu shipyard extends over an area of approximately 33,000 square meters which is dedicated to the production of its boats.

Novamarine carries out maintenance and storage activities at its Cala Saccaia facility which is currently leased.

The shipyard specialises in building inflatable boats.
