New Bali 5.2 from Catana Group

Catana Group has announced the launch of the Bali 5.2, just a few months after the launch of the Bali 5.8.

This is the first 52ft catamaran from the French brand.

The yacht has been inspired by the Bali 5.8, with familiar features such as the up-and-over door, the solid foredeck, and the door connecting the saloon and the forward cockpit, incorporated on board.

However the shipyard says the Bali 5.2 has taken up the challenge inherent in the brand: to find ever more space aboard each new model.

15 new boats in 11 years

To do this, the group is capitalising on its experience in the development of the 15 new boats that have been launched over the past 11 years.

The Bali 5.2 is available in three, four, five and six-cabin versions and can sleep up to 16 people with a range of customisation and configuration options available.

The aft cabins in the six-cabin version can each accommodate three people, with the toilets separate from the showers.

For the crew, an additional bunk bed is available in this configuration and the forepeaks can also be fitted out.

The design on board is from the team at Piaton-Bercault and includes a large U-shaped galley, as on the Bali 5.8, that is separated from the saloon by a high-level unit which increases storage space.

Space optimisation

At the chart table there is a large screen for electric and electronic management of the boat, and for meals and socialising, the saloon has a large L-shaped bench seat around a  table that can seat 12 people.

An up-and-over door and the open-plan interior have been designed for enjoyment of the catamaran’s volume in any conditions.

Bali has also focused on space optimisation: making spaces and functions usable at all times.

Sailing qualities

The aft deck offers a Beach Club with a hydraulic platform that can be added for a tender or for swimming. The foredeck is accessed via the saloon.

The sunbathing, lounge and navigation areas have been redesigned and are modular, with a tilting bench seat at the helm station.

And the Bali 5.2 is equipped with a 70sqm overlapping genoa to increase its sailing qualities.

The 94sqm square-topped mainsail can also be accompanied by a 105sqm Code Zero sail, while Yanmar offers propulsion of up to 115hp for each engine.
