Isle of Wight based Island RIBs is expanding its range with the Island 6.8m model.
The new model follows on from the launch of the company’s 10m RIB in 2023.
The Island 6.8m has been developed using new designs and tooling crafted in-house at Island RIBs’ factory in Cowes.
Features of the 6.8m model include a sleek bow, lightweight construction and a hull designed to deliver performance from relatively low horsepower.
The layout includes a bow locker, a walkaround console with a full-height windscreen, and a moulded splashwell designed to provide dry storage and structural rigidity.
Island RIBs says the new model has already attracted interest prior to its official launch later in April with Cowes Sailability Club choosing the craft as its new safety boat.
The vessel will play a role in helping the charity provide sailing opportunities for people with disabilities.
“We are absolutely delighted that Cowes Sailability Club has selected the Island 6.8m as its new RIB,” said Jo Burke of Island RIBs.
“Supporting the fantastic work of this local charity is an honour, and we look forward to assisting with the servicing and maintenance of the boat for years to come.”
