Aquila Power Catamarans has launched the newest addition to its Molokai catamaran series, the 36 Molokai.
Building on the 47 Molokai, this 36ft fishing platform delivers offshore capability with comfort and versatility.
The deck layout has been designed to maximise fishing space and functionality.
A twin-hull design provides the stability and advanced construction techniques ensure durability.
“We didn’t set out to build just another 36ft boat,” said Jean Raas, CEO of Aquila USA and chief product officer.
“We built a fishing weapon that happens to be 36ft long. Every design decision was made with serious anglers in mind.
“The beautiful thing is it’s also a great boat for entertaining family and friends.”
Fishing-first priorities
The 36 Molokai is designed by Peart Yacht Design using the same formula which the company used to develop the Aquila 47 Molokai.
This includes maintaining the fishing-first priorities and optimised weight distribution while adapting the twin-step hull design for different waters and crew sizes.
The 36 Molokai’s bow area features twin sun loungers, with optional storage beneath for tackle organisation and gear.
Beyond the bow seating, there is an integrated tackle station and a summer kitchen with optional BBQ to transform the boat into an entertaining platform.
Structural integrity
Pull-out coolers provide storage and create additional aft-facing seating.
The 36 Molokai’s carbon fibre hardtop delivers structural integrity for offshore fishing upgrades, providing a strong, rigid foundation that can handle the loads of a tuna tower installation without additional structural reinforcements required.
The advanced composite material distributes stresses evenly across the structure, ensuring the hardtop maintains its strength and durability even when supporting heavy tower configurations with outriggers, antennas, and electronics.
The Aquila 36 Molokai includes a sleeping cabin with private head.
