Nautic en Seine boat show cancelled

Nautic en Seine boat show has been cancelled.

The new Paris based boat show was due to have taken place in April 2025 but organisers, Fédérations des Industries Nautiques (FIN), say due to market conditions, it will not be held as the success of the show cannot be guaranteed.

The FIN says that the new show was the result of intense consultation that took place in the first half of 2023.

“Everyone praised the quality of the project prepared by the federation’s operational teams. This ambitious project responded to the requests expressed 18 months ago,” said Fabrice Lacoume, president of the FIN trade fair commission.

“It was currently the subject of intensive discussions both with government departments in terms of administrative authorisations and with our territorial partners to achieve the best economic balances.

“Despite this work, we must recognise that the situation has changed in a year, the instability of the market due to external economic factors has impacted our prospects and weakened the project.”

Our responsibility is also to guarantee that a certain level of risk will not be exceeded.

He added: “The pre-marketing phase launched in recent months does not allow us today to continue the development of this new show in a serene manner.”

Jean-Paul Chapeleau, president of the FIN, confirmed that the FIN’s primary mission is to strengthen the French nautical industry.

“This is why it collectively considered it important to maintain a show on Ile-de-France soil,” he said.

“But our responsibility is also to guarantee that a certain level of risk will not be exceeded, including for the professional federation, and to take into account a set of hazards.

“The debates within our council have shown that the context is no longer favourable. It is a decision that is certainly regretted, but fully assumed.”

And he said FIN will continue to look at other options.

The show, formerly Nautic Paris, was initially due to have taken place in October but was postponed until April 2025 earlier in 2024 due to a congested schedule of international boat shows.

Organisers had hoped the show would have a new identity, new dates, new format and new dynamics.

The show was due to have taken place over six days combining indoor and outdoor exhibition space at Hauts-de-Seine.
