Nanni, ZF partnership expansion

Nanni and ZF have renewed their partnership with the goal of providing integrated, efficient and reliable propulsion solutions.

The partnership spans more than 40 years, with ZF supplying Nanni with a range of marine transmissions from the ZF25 to the ZF3060 for shaft line applications, as well as the SD12 and SD15 sail drives.

In a statement, Nanni said the partnership had grown stronger over the years, based on shared goals: innovation, long-term reliability, and end-user satisfaction.

And the company said both partners are working to create a more coherent network to enhance the customer experience, throughout the use of an engine, including during maintenance.

New steering and maneuvering system

The two companies are currently working together on the development of a new steering and maneuvering system integrated into the engine and transmission, scheduled for release in June 2026, with advanced features and optimised user experience.

Beyond this launch, other longer-term projects are also under consideration including new propulsion architectures, increasingly intelligent and connected solutions, and innovations focused on ease of use and reliability.

“This partnership with Nanni is above all a story of trust and a shared long-term vision”, says Massimiliano Cotterchio, head of sales and marketing, product line pleasure craft at ZF

Extending this partnership with ZF means choosing to continue to move forward together.

Michele Insom

Michele Insom, head of spare parts and marketing director at Nanni, added: “Extending this partnership with ZF means choosing to continue to move forward together.

“By combining the best of the engine and the best of propulsion, we are building propulsion solutions that are increasingly consistent, fluid, and relevant for our customers.”

ZF supplying advanced mobility products and systems for a range of sectors including the recreational and professional marine industry.

The Nanni range now covers a wide spectrum of marine solutions, including marine propulsion engines ranging from 10 to 2,200 horsepower, suitable for a range of vessels.
