Marinedi Group acquires Marina di Brindisi

Marina operator Marinedi Group has acquired a controlling interest in the Adriatic Coast’s Marina di Brindisi.

The Marinedi Group has been operating the marina following on from the bankruptcy of the previous majority shareholder and over the last three years has increased the marina’s turnover by more than 90% and increased occupancy to more than 80%.

“We are proud to welcome the Marina of Brindisi to the Group,” said Renato Marconi, CEO and founder of Marinedi Group.

“This acquisition, which follows the important transaction on the purchase of the receivables due to the previous majority shareholder, represents the conclusion of a process that has made it possible to safeguard the future of the port concession company and ensure its development.

He added: “Today, with full control and financial security in place, we can look to the future with a long-term development plan, which also includes the expansion of berths-particularly for maxi-yachts-strengthening Brindisi as the main hub of the Lower Adriatic and Ionian Sea.”

Director and chairman of the marina, Claudio Gorelli, added: “By becoming a full member of the Marinedi Group, the Marina of Brindisi will continue to benefit from the Group’s experience and know-how.

“In addition, thanks to operational and commercial synergies, the port will be able to continue its growth path, started a few years ago with important results in terms of occupancy, obtained by careful management and the commitment of all employees.”

Marinedi Group was founded in 2013 and operates 14 Italian ports with more than 5,700 berths.

The Group is now planning to submit a redevelopment project in collaboration with the Municipality of Brindisi and the Port Authority.

The Marina of Brindisi can accommodate vessels up to 90m in length.
