ARKUP vessels are to be built by Lyman-Morse boatbuilding
Lyman-Morse boatbuilding is to take over production of the ARKUP Villa 50 and future ARKUP vessels
The shipyard, based in Maine, manufactures a range of vessels from high-tech carbon ocean racers to cold-moulded wooden sloops and luxury motor yachts and will now also manufacture ARKUP’s all-electric liveable floating yachts.
The announcement comes as ARKUP also partners with Italian design studio Pininfarina.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Pininfarina and ARKUP – two names that share our passion for design, innovation, and pushing boundaries,” explained Drew Lyman, president of Lyman-Morse.
This collaboration allows us to merge our 48-year heritage of craftsmanship with visionary design and cutting-edge technology.

“Bringing decades of expertise in automotive, architectural, and industrial design, the studio will shape the guest experience through innovative, sustainable, and elegant design solutions.”
Innovation, elegance and environmental responsibility
Paolo Trevisan, Pininfarina’s vice president of design, added: “At Pininfarina, we share the same vision for a more sustainable and design-driven future on the water.
“This collaboration embodies our shared belief that innovation, elegance, and environmental responsibility can coexist seamlessly.
“We look forward to shaping this next chapter together and redefining the experience of living beautifully on the sea.”
The Villa 50 is able to cruise at six knots with a top speed of eight knots. It is powered by solar-electric propulsion with a backup generator.
The vessels combine attributes of yachts, floating houses and villas and have been designed to be self-sufficient, sustainable and environmentally friendly.
ARKUP is part of The Ark Companies.
