Gurit has inaugurated its Advanced Composites R&D Centre in Tianjin, China,
The new centre is based in the in the Tianjin Economic-Technological Development Area (TEDA) and is set to strengthen Gurit’s ‘R&D-to-production’ capabilities.
Gurit says the new facility reaffirms its long-term commitment to the Chinese market.
The centre is due to be fully operational by the end of 2025, and will drive the development of next-generation, high-performance composite technologies.
It complements Gurit’s existing R&D centres and composite testing hubs in the UK, India and New Zealand.
Testing of PET materials
The new Tianjin centre will focus primarily on the research, development, analysis, and testing of PET materials.
The facility’s proximity to Gurit’s Tianjin PET manufacturing facility will help the company streamline new product introduction, shorten development cycles, and enable faster responses to innovation needs.
