GP Watercraft partners with FD Yachts

GP Watercraft has partnered with FD Yachts to bring the training dinghy, the FD Future, to the UK market.

The a 3.6m PE boat FD Future has been designed for sailing schools and clubs to introduce youth and adults alike into dinghy sailing.

The dinghy has a single hull design and different rig options enabling it to be sailed as a single- or double-hander catering for a range of needs.

“We’re excited to start our partnership with FD Yachts and believe the FD Future is truly unique in its versatility, enabling training schools to cater for a wide audience with just one product,” said Shaun Priestley of GP Watercraft.

“The boat is fun to sail and offers the perfect platform from learning to sail to developing and honing transferable skills.”

He continued: “The FD Future range of boats is designed and built with a mission to make sailing easy, accessible and enjoyable for everyone.”

Rig options include a fully battened main, a jib and spinnaker.

“We have also adjusted the sail area to make it youth/beginner-friendly as well as being enjoyed by the adult sailors,” explained Krijn.

“The PE hull is strong, durable and very easy to maintain for the club, especially for coastal sailing clubs.”

FD Yachts is based in China. The company has developed a range of boats including the FD Future and the composite keel boats the FD 65S and FD 75S – composite keel boats, (6.5m and 7.5m respectively), as well as custom-built boats.
