Futuro Boats is to begin production on its first electric model.
The model will be the first to be produced under a new partnership with MIZU Europe GmbH and will be based on the Futuro’s ZX 20, the smallest in the boatbuilder’s ZX series.
The craft will be manufactured in Germany in Hilzingen.
“With a view to future-oriented production and optimised delivery to our customers, we have expanded our financial scope,” said a statement from Futuro Boats.
“Together with our new partner, the company MIZU, we are starting the production of our Futuro boats.”
Features of the new ZX20 E electric craft include eight passenger seats, a dining area and a bathing platform.
Versatile craft
The boat, to be constructed from marine aluminium, will be 6 metres in length with a 2 metre width and a draft of 0.2 metres.
The craft has been designed to be easily transported and to be versatile when on the water.
A table in the bow area can be transformed into a lounger and a ladder mounted on the bathing platform allows for boarding after swimming.
“This model fits into the canons of minimalist design, while designing it we wanted to provide a large space on the deck while maintaining the small dimensions of the boat,” explained a spokesperson from Futuro.
Good speed
“The weight of the boat is only 700kg, it gives very good speed performance while using an electric engine.”
Futuro Boats will now be produced in Germany with the head office for marketing and sales located in Switzerland.
Futuro founders Maximilian Kreft and Marcin Zając will remain actively on board with the new partnership. The company debuted its first prototype in 2019.
MIZU has sold Futuro models since 2020.
