First craft reaches fit-out stage

UK-based Venture Maritime’s first boat has entered its fit-out stage. The 13-metre aluminium motor yacht is a full displacement adventure craft designed by Fish Marine Design.

The craft will be powered by twin engines capable of running on biodiesel paird with a high-efficiency twin shaft drive system, featuring drying-out capabilities from Michigan Marine Propulsion.

Future electric variants are anticipated.

“When Stephen Whittaker, founder of Venture Maritime, approached us with his initial concept, we saw an opportunity to apply our experience and expertise to create something truly special,” said a spokesperson from Fish Marine Design.

“The Venture 44 challenges the norms of traditional motorboats by focusing on efficiency over excessive fuel consumption. Instead of relying on large, fuel-hungry engines, this yacht is designed for high-displacement cruise speeds while achieving impressive distances with minimal fuel use.

“It’s a sustainable solution in terms of form, ability and construction materials.”

Reduced environmental impact

Features of the yacht include a reduced environmental impact with solar panels on the wheelhouse roof, and the ability to run on sustainable fuel including HVO.

The all-weather yacht has a Liberty Series hull design that has been designed to allow the boat to cut through the water for a smoother ride.

Four berths are incorporated, divided between the main cabin and ccasional sleeping arrangements in the wheelhouse.

Other features include an electric windlass which is equipped with an Ultra Anchor and a twin drive train setup that incorporates A bracket skegs to allow the vessel to dry out for easier cleaning and maintenance.

“The Venture 44 was imagined by Stephen Whittaker, a life-long sailor and boat enthusiast, with a passion for pushing the envelope when it comes to design,” said a Venture Maritime spokesperson.

“Stephen was looking for a powerboat experience that could offer more in terms of reliability, design, functionality, and sustainability.

“The Venture 44 is his solution.”

The vessel has been built by Isle of Wight built AMC, with fitting out taking place at Yacht Solutions in Plymouth.
