Fairline looks to the future after administration

Fairline has completed its orderbook for 2026, with the company looking forward to the future.

In an update following the acquisition of Fairline Yachts last year after it entered administration and the formation of a new holding company, Fairline Holdco Ltd, the British yacht builder says 2026 represents s decisive step forward.

Trading as Fairline across Europe and the rest of the world, and as Fairline Yachts in the United States, the management team says it has spent the past year setting foundations for long-term growth.

“When we took over the business, we asked every employee to tell us, in their own words, what went wrong,” explained Fairline joint CEO Oliver Southwell.

The direction is clear. We are focused on returning Fairline to sustained profitability and steady growth.

“That insight has directly informed the decisions we have taken. Involving the team in shaping the future has created a renewed sense of responsibility and optimism across the company.”

Fairline currently employs 240 people with the new owners streamlining non-production headcount, with external partners appointed to support areas such as marketing.

“Fairline has always been known for its build quality. Our task has been to give that talent the structure, clarity and financial stability it deserves,” continued Southwell.

And he explained that the company has signed a new ten-year lease securing Fairline’s established facility in Oundle, near Peterborough, with its three units comprising 12,000 square metres of production space.

A further 3,600 square metres in Ipswich focuses on testing, commissioning and sea trials.

Solid foundations

The order book is growing for 2027, with the company reporting a surge of interest.

“The foundations are solid,” said Southwell. “The direction is clear. We are focused on returning Fairline to sustained profitability and steady growth.”

The boatbuilder has three new model launches planned and is continuing to build popular models such as the F/Line 33, the Targa range including the Targa 40 and the new Targa 47 Open, and new Targa 47 GT

The flagship Targa 58 GTO will be unveiled across Cannes, Southampton and Fort Lauderdale later this year.

Fairline was founded by the Newington family in Oundle in the early 1960s, with the first boat launched in 1967. Since then, more than 15,000 boats have been built and delivered through a global dealer network.
