Catana Group has seen its new boat sales readjust by 20% and warns that 2026 will see the downward market cycle continue for the entire nautical segment.
However, the Group is continuing the rollout of its 2030 strategic plan and says the first drivers of growth are already materialising, notably with an imminent expansion into two new market areas over the next 12 months.
The market is entering its fourth year of decline, with the decline in sales in the last two years marked by global instability, both geopolitical and economic.
The Group points out that boat rental companies are suffering from reduced visibility, with the heavy geopolitical situation since 2022 making each season more uncertain than the others, and boat renters being more reluctant to travel in this context, or deciding at the last minute.
Wait-and-see attitude continues
Individuals prefer a cautious approach before committing their cash or resorting to debt to acquire a new boat.
The wait-and-see attitude is affecting the majority of customers.
New boat sales totalled €62.7 million in the last six months, down 20% compared to the same period the prior year.
Services, mainly composed of activities at the Port Pin Rolland base (83), were up 20%
During the last fiscal year, the new BALI 5.8 was launched – the largest BALI model.
And the Group says the success of the new BALI 5.2 in the current fiscal year confirms its development strategy, with the model receiving success with rental companies.
High-potential market segments
A phased industrial rollout began last September, with sales of this model for the current fiscal year primarily concentrated in the second half of the year.
In line with its 2030 strategic plan, the Group will take a further step in the coming months by entering new high-potential market segments, regardless of the health of the market.
Two new, larger models will be offered; in the motorboat segment, the Group will offer the new YOT 53, the brand’s first inboard habitable boat which will be oriented towards owners, with features including a suite with private terrace, fully open cockpit with tilting door and an XXL rooftop.
In the sailing segment, the new BALI 7.0 will be launched.
At more than 22 metre in length, the yacht is intended to propel the brand into the highly competitive market of large yachts. This yacht will also have a strong focus on the ‘owner’s yacht’ concept.
