Boston Marine Services, an affiliate of Ocean Havens, has acquired Boston Boatworks out of afministration.
The acquisition is intended to enhance Boston Marine Services capabilities in vessel repair, upgrades, maintenance, and storage.
It will also strengthen Boston Marine Services ability to reach and support a wider network of clients.
Boston Boatworks was founded in 1996 and since then has built around 360 vessels.
The company’s facilities in its Charlestown facility include a 35,000sqft heated building and a 75-ton travel lift.
Boston Marine Services says it intends to build on Boston Boatworks’ strengths and continue to service recreational and commercial vessels, including the rapidly growing water transportation industry.
“We are thrilled to be able to retain so many of their experienced employees to continue to service vessels on Boston Harbor for years to come,” says Chuck Lagasse, principal of Ocean Havens.
We are exciting about integrating this endeavor in the Ocean Havens family of businesses.
