A fire has destroyed the allpa warehouse in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.

No-one was injured in the fire but a notice on the maritime wholesalers’ website states the building was irreparably destroyed.

A report in Float Magazine stated that the fire took place during the night of September 24. The fire spread so rapidly that the fire department was unable to do anything.

Instead it was allowed to burn down in a controlled manner before it was put out.

There were ten other companies based in the building in addition to allpa.

The cause of the fire and the extent of the damage are not yet known. An investigation will be carried out at a later date.

allpa marine equipment was acquired by the Mercator Marine Group (MMG), one of Europe’s largest B2B suppliers of technical parts and accessories for the pleasure craft market, in 2021.

The MMG group of companies includes several companies based in the Netherlands and Germany, with the others being Combi Noord, Technautic and Technik fürs Boot.

Together the four wholesalers supply more than 65,000 products.
