Garmin has reported a 10% increase in marine segment revenue in its second quarter, with growth seen in multiple categories led by chartplotters.
Marine segment gross and operating margins were 55% and 21% respectively, resulting in $63 million of operating income.
Net marine sales were almost $300,000 in the quarter ending June 2025, up from nearly $273,000.
Half year sales stood at nearly $619,000 compared to nearly $600,000 in the prior year.
In total, across all segments, Garmin had a 20% increase in revenue to $1.81 billion compared to the same quarter in 2024.
Revenue from the Fitness segment increased 41% in the secone quarter with growth led by strong demand for advanced wearables.
Operating income
Revenue in the Outdoor segmenet increased 11% primarily due to growth in adventure watches and revenue from the Aviation segment increased 14%.
There was also a 16% increase in revenue from Garmin’s auto OEM segment.
The latest financial results show Garmin had record operating income of $472 million, a 38% increase compared to the prior year quarter and operating margin expanded to 26% compared to 22.7%.
Key highlights in the quarter were the launches of the GPSMAP 15×3 chartplotters, with a premium ultrawide display and the quatix 8, Garmin’s most advanced purpose-built smartwatch for mariners.
Outstanding results
“We delivered another quarter of outstanding financial results with double-digit growth in every segment, driven by our strong lineup of innovative and highly differentiated products that customers desire,” said Cliff Pemble, president and chief executive officer of Garmin.
“We are very pleased with our results so far in 2025, which have exceeded our expectations and give us confidence to raise our full year guidance.”
Based on performance in the first half of 2025, revenue of approximately $7.1 billion is anticipated for the full 2025 year.
