First Conrad Shipyard serial semi-custom production yacht

Construction has begun on Conrad Shipyard’s Conrad C-140 performance flybridge sailing yacht at the boatbuilder’s Gdansk, Poland yard.

The yacht was initially announced at the Monaco Yacht show in 2022 as a collaboration with German yacht designer and naval architect Frank Neubelt.

Since its announcement, the originally introduced project concept of 130ft in length has been expanded to 140ft.

The C-140 spans 42 meters, with technical engineering a collaborative effort between the Conrad technical in-house team and naval-engineering studio Delta Marine.

“The C-140 is another milestone for us. We are honoured to have the opportunity to cooperate once again with Frank, who introduced a very experienced ‘yacht-gent’ to Conrad Shipyard to realise his bespoke super yacht,” said Mikolaj Krol, CEO at Conrad Shipyard.

“After the success of a series of award-winning motor yachts like the C-144s line and the C-133 custom model, we are now returning to a very demanding and unique project of a sailing superyacht, confirming our over ten years as the most renown high-quality builders in the North of Europe and the international superyacht industry.”

Features of the C-140 include an indoor-outdoor salon concept integrated into an Alu/Alustar-hull and a light carbon-superstructure.

The styling of the flybridge-decks-house features full-screen salon windows, offering an owner’s stateroom with two ensuite bathrooms on the lower deck with a private exit to the aft beach club deck, plus three guest cabins. The yacht features service and crew areas including a pantry, galley, and crew mess.

The performance bowsprit powered and wind tunnel VPP/ LPP tested sail-plan set at a four-swept-back spreader Southern Spars carbon mast comes with a carbon furl-in boom carrying a square-top main sail embodies sophistication.

The yacht is up-wind powered by North Sails via Reckmann- a furled self-tacking staysail and a 110% blade-jib plus at half-wind and reaches sailing performed via a defined Code-0/gennaker configuration.

The yacht is designed for sportive world cruising, with the hull-body´s lines computer optimised by FNYD and Conrad in cooperation with the North Tech-Group and British hydrodynamic company Capehorn.

The yacht incorporates hybrid power with a 360-degree low resistance-feasible four-blade propulsion system and bow thruster by Hundested propellers.

The C-140 model is the first of Conrad Shipyard’s serial semi-custom production sailing yacht. Completion is due for the 2026 season.
