OXE Marine receives $0.7 million order

High-performance diesel outboard manufacturer OXE Marine has announced an order for GM Marine valued at approximately $0.7 million.

The order is the first of a total project value of approximately $1 million and covers components and engineering services.

In addition, it covers a study focused on the further development of OXE’s patented lower leg drive and the opportunities it creates to support alternative powertrain solutions.

The order follows on from a supply and development agreement announced late in 2025, under which OXE became a GM integrator and began development of the Duramax LZ0 3.0 inline-6 engine to power future OXE outboards.

The development is being carried out together with GM Marine and is currently underway.

In parallel, the study will further develop OXE’s patented lower leg drive, focusing on enhanced capabilities including higher torque capacity, with improvements carried over to the existing OXE product lineup.

New revenue stream

The company says that by advancing the lower leg drive, the partners will be able to evaluate a broader range of alternative powertrain options and extend GM’s propulsion technologies into new marine applications.

The order will also introduce a new engineering services revenue segment for OXE Marine in addition to the company’s existing propulsion sales business.

“This order demonstrates the strength and innovative ability of our engineering organisation and highlights the strategic value of our patented lower leg drive,” said Paul Frick, CEO of OXE Marine.

“By continuing to develop this platform, we create new opportunities to adapt and expand alternative powertrain solutions for the marine market, while maintaining our focus on the current OXE outboard product offering.”

Revenue is expected to be recognised over the remainder of 2026.

GM Marine is a division of General Motors which develops and supplies powertrain solutions for the marine industry.
