CMC Marine is partnering with Dometic to integrate its stabiliser technology with Dometic’s Optimus steering system for yachts between 40 and 115ft.
The announcement was made at Cannes Yachting Festival where CMC Marine has also shown the integration of its stabilisation systems with Raymarine Axiom chartplotters, made possible through the DALI interface.
Through the integration, users gain access to functionalities such as monitoring fin movements and performance, selecting operating modes and parameters, and accessing system information and alarms directly from their Raymarine Axiom.
For vessels equipped with CMC Marine’s Directa steering system, users can also manage rudder positions and select operating modes.
CMC Marine’s new developments are part of three-year company development and growth plan launched at METSTRADE 2023, with a planned investment of €10 million.
The growth plan involved partnerships with other market players to improve the offering and integration of CMC Marine systems.
CMC Marine has tested the integration of its Stabilis Electra and Waveless STAB systems with the Optimus steering at its development centre in Pisa and at a major OEM shipyard.
“We’re glad to integrate Dometic’s excellent steering with our fins and Argo control, allowing our common customers to get even more from the systems working together,” said Alessandro Cappiello.
“Both companies have a strong focus on technology and comfort on board, hopefully this is just the beginning of a prolific partnership.”
Eric Fetchko, Dometic Marine Segment president, added: “This partnership demonstrates how two forward-thinking companies can work together for the benefit of vessel owners.
“We are experts in precision steering technology for a wide range of vessels. CMC Marine is a world leader in electric fin stabilisation systems.
“By combining our engineering and manufacturing expertise, we can enhance vessel ride and handling for yacht owners worldwide.”
