Anglo Welsh Ltd has acquired Sally Narrowboats, expanding its canal boat hire to a new base on the Kennet & Avon Canal at Bradford on Avon.
The acquisition follows that of Silsden Boats on the Leeds & Liverpool Canal in West Yorkshire in 2022.
Sally Narrowboats offers a wide range of around 20 narrowboats with the base, on the outskirts of the Bradford on Avon, catering for both experienced and novice boaters.
“The Kennet & Avon Canal is one of the most popular on the network for canal boat holidays, with iconic destinations such as the Caen Hill flight of locks at Devizes and the Bath stone aqueducts at Avoncliff and Dundas,” said Carl Cowlishaw, operations director for Anglo Welsh.
“We’re pleased to be able to offer our customers another boat hire location on this beautiful waterway, adding to our Monkton Combe base at Brassknocker Basin and Sydney Wharf in Bath, through our partnership with Bath Narrowboats.”
Day boat hire will also be offered.
Silsden Boats offers wide beam and narrowboats for hire, along with boatbuilding facilities.
The fleet also includes three new 60ft Ocean Class cruiser stern narrowboats for up to ten people.
Sally Narrowboats was part of the Hoseasons Group.
