Yachting software developer Aquator Marine, has been awarded a Lloyd’s Register Software Conformity Assessment certification for its Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
The certification was awarded following an independent software conformity assessment conducted by Lloyd’s Register on the software that has been developed to optimise yacht production, fleet management and yacht operations, to simplify processes and support compliance with regulations.
The evaluation process included an audit of Aquator’s system architecture, testing procedures, quality assurance framework, and user functionality.
Key areas of review included verification of requirement specifications and software design documentation and independent witnessed testing of core functionalities and edge cases.
Achieving Lloyd’s Register certification is a significant validation.

There was also an assessment of Aquator’s configuration management and system version control and an evaluation of operational reliability, including update and maintenance protocols.
“Achieving Lloyd’s Register certification is a significant validation of the rigorous work that goes into our product development,” said Gerben Visser, CEO of Aquator Marine.
“From day one, our vision has been to build technology that directly supports the operational needs and compliance challenges of the yachting sector.
Regulatory standards
“With this certification, we’ve taken a meaningful step in bridging software innovation with the highest regulatory standards.”
And he explained that the Planned Maintenance System is more than just a scheduling tool; it is a mission-critical system that impacts safety, asset longevity, and vessel reputation.
“Certification by Lloyd’s reaffirms our commitment to excellence, resilience, and operational transparency,” said Gerben.
“As yachts grow in complexity and regulations tighten, having a certified, reliable PMS in place will become essential, not optional for owners, builders, yacht managers, captains and crew alike.”
