Dometic has entered the vessel stabiliser market with the launch of its DG3 Gyrostabiliser at the Miami International Boat Show 2025.
The DG3 is the first in a planned series of advanced gyrostabilisers, designed for the 35 – to 41ft boat market.
The system has been developed to reach full readiness in 16 minutes and fully lower in 20 minutes, minimising energy consumption.
Features of the new gyro include the introduction of innovations in energy storage and recapture, enabling the battery to recharge efficiently.
The system incorporates Dometic’s proprietary, Inverted Roller Screw technology for control and roll reduction performance.
It also incorporates a slower-spinning flywheel, larger, more robust bearings, patent-pending inner race cooling, parallel path cooling, and a titanium heat exchanger designed to stay cool and operate reliably.
The DG3’s Roller Screw technology has been designed to provide actively controlled flywheel procession.
We’re taking Dometic into an important new category for the global boating business.

Dometic’s proprietary all-electric procession actuator replaces hydraulic actuators for long-term durability and to minimise servicing.
“We’re not just launching a new product, we’re taking Dometic into an important new category for the global boating business,” said Dometic Marine Segment president Eric Fetchko.
“This introduction also exemplifies our ability to apply our revolutionary Inverted Roller Screw technology in new ways for the benefit of boaters worldwide.”
And he said that response from boat building partners has been very positive.
He added: “We are excited about bringing this new technology to the marine market and exploring new ways we can integrate it with our other ride and control solutions in the future.”
The DG3 has been designed an easy drop-in replacement for other comparably sized systems.
The unit fits within the same footprint and clearance specifications and also features reversible mounting feet to address common challenges encountered by installers.
The DG3 is compatible with 12, 24 and 48-volt house battery systems.
